The most remarkable event in the history of pilgrim endeavours of Running on Waves was when an icon, painted by an outstanding Russian traveler, champion of faith and painter Fedor Konyukhov, was delivered as a gift to Vatopedi monastery at St. Mount Athos
Other pilgrim cruises were dedicated to sacred places of ancient Byzantium, Patmos, Corfu, Bari, Agia Saranda, Cephalonia, Aegina.

St. Nicholas is famous for making miracles. He is also known to be the  protector of sailors and all those who dare to make sea voyages.

The  Sailing Cruise on Easter 2016  is conceived to praise St.Nicholas by visiting places, connected to his life and afterlife.
The idea belongs to Alexander Vodovatov, the winner of Rolex Sydney Hobart  Race 2014 (on Art Equity Mahligai yacht).
