This video is about sailing to Amble over the course of three days. Engine mishaps, bird sightings and a lot of snack food. Oh, plus a bit of drone footage t...

so it's time for us to leave hardly
Paul's much as we'd enjoy being there
and try to make our way north to amble
wasn't as easy as we hoped on it as she
wasn't as nice weather when this was
reported at warm
I'm very warm well the situation has
changed in that listening we got the
engine on we've got no wind so we got
the engine on we got the autopilot on
and we are heading for Newcastle and
keeping a very close eye on the injured
temperatures and oil pressures and so on
and so forth so
anything going to say done it
sure
so just in case the recording didn't
work earlier we've had a recurring
engine problem where it stopped pumping
water and the engine goes into the red
so we switch it off and that has
unfortunately happened again today so
yeah I've realized that this is actually
a sailboat and it's perfectly capable of
making its own way no wait love Gilly
who give up that's the improvised join
up of the two bits of exhaust pipe that
did have that between them this is a
sort of a baffle we think that the
baffle doesn't work properly and it
creates back pressure or we thought that
was the case I mean who knows I'll just
fill you in your pajamas you going
sailing in your pajamas mode so mission
critical update we slapping your copy
the muffins are quite days and plus the
engine it's nice and cool it's currently
shipping what and I see so or pumping
what a nice further update change a fair
number what we on 695 25 the engine
stand it's all over heating trick again
so we are sailing into Sunderland
because it's an ice beam reach and it's
a very short sale you're doing two point
nine dots in the crop top with a little
approximately the right direction we've
got half an art I trying to push
yourself but we will visit them and they
just sit now Mary Wilson online will
sail up to the wall and cry
don't know if it's what oh yes it's
recording you to see the little flashing
light there ice in manual focus as new
all right okay reaction video to the
stats alright just pay top trumps okay
total distance covered okay talk this is
recorded 20 1.3 miles I so close 20.7
okay alright alright so current versus
best you ready maximum speed on this
trip Oh 6.7 mmm average speed no yeah
closeish but three and a half three and
a half knots but our previous average
2.8 and our distance our average
distance is six-and-a-half nautical
miles how longs it take to go around the
world with the averaging six not have
nautical miles in each trip either thing
we're on the moving tonight and it gets
cold we ain't got no electricity no but
the heater blew up anyway right hmm oh
there's my sandwich it was camouflaged
against the seat cover I couldn't see it
like a trick of the light when do I ever
made myself receipt a sandwich and not
you well never but I just I tell you
what that's like that's like that scene
in Indiana Jones you know where we can't
see the bridge and the last crusade
that's the only reason I can see that is
the sesame seeds so whilst eating lunch
we actually came to the realization that
perhaps moved
haven't overheated and the 10 refix come
off so we looked in a locker to find it
for a water so we fixed it finished
lunch so we spend the night on the
Marengo and set off on day 2 and started
heading crumble unfortunately I got a
call from one of my clients so I ended
up with a bookkeeping emergency which
meant we needed to pull into black this
is no sure hope I pending
I didn't mind pulling its Blythe at all
actually I thought it was nice I really
like him I find it a bit rustic
particularly when I'm walking along the
pontoon and I might get my heels stuck
in between those giant pieces of wood
that they've got there the whole thing's
built of huge wooden pilings isn't it
that all the pier framework and
everything and there there are big gaps
in between you need to keep thinking the
dogs gonna fall between yeah huge here
well not that huge but big enough to
worry about when you're in your heels
but I love seeing things like the the
base of the our NYC is the houseboat
tied and it's a phenomenal piece of
marine architectural piece of history
there's lots of fishing boats there that
are obviously working fishing boats and
they're quite interesting to see as well
and they have all the wind farms there
and there's a lot of industry based
around sort of renewable energies and
things coming out of this a fabulous
place yeah one of the things I love
about failing is all the different
wildlife that we see and we see lots of
Arctic Terns common terns their run
difficult to tell the difference between
when they're flying the attic turn is
the long distant my granted travels from
its breeding grounds which can be the
architect who was lost northeast England
to the Antarctic where it stays for
winter it looks very similar to the
Comintern but they're smaller they have
a shorter bill which turns bright red in
the summer
cockatiel what I like about them is the
way they dive to catch fish which is
quite difficult to film but I did manage
all this occasion the male does impress
the female by offering our fish in
flight which is pretty impressive ready
they feed mainly on fashion sandals but
unfortunately they are in decline their
threats being at nest predation by rats
hedgehogs and obviously human
disturbance and a lack of stand deals
which is actually our most important
food source
finally let's see the big candy
some locals commensal against that
Franklin
Wow some headphones
like that
well here we are so long it took us
three days to get there
you
