this is Brenda she's our captain this is
me at first mate this is us having lunch
smack-dab in the middle of Pacific Ocean
and this is our boat adventurer our goal
is to see the world and this is the
story of how we're doing it eight months
ago we put our boat in this storage yard
and found out we had some major problems
with our amazed you know the big pole
that's supposed to be sticking out of
the center of the boat it's what makes
the sailboat a sail boat since a new
mast was months away from being made you
might be wondering what we've been doing
in the meantime
well we sailed across the mighty Pacific
Ocean on our friends boat swam in warm
tropical water
we hiked and we explored a bunch
spent a whole lot of time with skis
strapped to our feet in the mountains
and we camped out wide-open spaces
but after eight months away it was
finally time for us to give back to our
boat our ladders gone our ladders gone
how's the looking terrible
eight months in a dirty and dusty
storage yard haven't been kind to the
old girl she's looking pretty weathered
and rough that's where the mast is
supposed to be poking out of
we have about two months before we leave
Seattle and set sail for Mexico and in
that time we have a ton of projects to
get done
and that's where the bottom side of the
mast is supposed to be city we aren't
going anywhere without that mast since
we have tons of other projects to tackle
boxes and boxes of both parts is just
like Christmas
this is what we'll use to mount our
radar to our new mast
Oh box of rope you never have enough
rope I hope this is probably the most
important thing they've ordered Domino's
sitting in the middle of the ocean
really really waterproof computer bags
and some of this stuff I honestly have
no idea why I ordered but got it now so
gotta figure out what to do with it this
is actually the Fox I really didn't want
it's got some flares and some other odds
and ends but mostly this box is full of
plumbing parts fixing plumbing on a boat
is literally the crappiest part and this
is what we call boat yoga contorting
into ungodly positions to fix something
on the boat doing boat yoga and plumbing
at the same time sucks but as you can
see Brenda likes doing boat yoga too
she's putting a new door on our freezer
last summer a guy ran into us while
we're anchored finally getting around to
fixing the gelcoat
Brenda's been busy making mosquito
screens for all of our hatches the
manual door
this could be the most important project
on my list and installing new slides on
the drawers and Brenda's closet because
with the old ones whenever the weather
was rough and the boat was bouncing
around her drawers that fall off the
tracks and I would get a look that it
was surely my fault this one is about
keeping a marital bliss
what are you doing how's it coming we
love boat work are you sure would you
rather be working on the plumbing I'll
trade you after about four or five tries
using a book and a couple YouTube videos
I finally tied a splice right and it
looks pretty good
you never have a boat without doing it a
lot of safety
but the funnest part about being in the
yard is that you get to go up and down
the ladder at least 40 times a day all
that up and down usually means we got
something accomplished and that means I
get across something off my list this is
actually my favorite part of working on
the book crossing something off the list
just means of that much closer
we were starting to feel like we were
getting a lot accomplished then this
happened you may remember this whole
well fell into it messed up my foot
doctor says no ladders for a while
that's ok because sometimes it's nice to
take a break find a beautiful spot watch
the tide roll in and the Sun go down
