join the crew of the math lab as we
visit the Galapagos Islands these unique
isolated islands have given birth to
amazing creatures birds and plants that
you will find nowhere else on the planet
and inspired a young Charles Darwin who
created a theory of evolution and we
would never see the world the same again
here we are at the marina's Chapas in
Mexico first time ever offshore break
first we go when we got there the guys
were already hard at work the guys have
been there for a good couple of weeks
before we got there but there was still
tons to do you were on a tight deadline
we wanted to get going the next day so
that gave us basically a day and a half
to get organized and we had a few things
to do a little bit more provisioning and
we needed to do the paperwork to check
out one of the best things about
cruising is getting to know your fellow
cruisers and now the dreaded paperwork
had begun I am truly grateful that this
isn't me doing it but the captain
there's all kinds of horror stories
about checking out but I decided I would
wait under the tree next stop was the
Harbormaster and we got a little
surprise in the back they run them up
and down the
run em up and down the coast they go
super fast
partway across they'll hook up with some
other boy and we'll change engines and
gas and they'll keep on heading out
great business Colombia is the world's
largest producer of cocaine and the
Mexican cartel has long been a
partnership with them with our paperwork
done and legal to leave in the morning
we could relax Danny makes the best
salsa fire-roasted could just love
Mexican food oh it can be a little hot
for the captain it was nice to chill but
the Maya claw was calling us was trying
to go get some fuel for the trip guys
yeah while you're at it do you mind
doing the windows
those two tanks back up a lot of fuel
man I hate to see that bill and he
couldn't resist and off we went on a
little cruise
Verducci Appa is the commercial port in
the state of chiapas those built in 1975
and provides a shipping terminal the
Mayan calendar originated from Chiapas
tourism is also becoming a part of it
but it's nowhere developed as other
parts of Mexico as I watched the
shoreline I can feel my excitement
growing knowing that tomorrow morning we
would be leaving on our adventure to the
Galapagos in our next video we get fish
ate and we have our first night at sea
has attached fee what do you call that
strap some kind of strap thing

alright cool here we are ya day I guess
this is technically day two we it's the
22nd january twentieth of 21st i'm
already on island time it hasn't even
been 24 hours started in Road Town and
today we did a little sailing from Road
Town to the bite just behind the camera
we have the willie tea and we're getting
to getting ready to jump in for a little
swim i figured we talked a little bit
about our successes and failures first
time here on 41 foot boat well we made
it oh we could do a tour of the hell
yeah you made it we managed to sail on a
on a gym in a main pulley out there's a
little light and 10 knots cruise at
about five between 4-5 nobody died we
didn't hit anything Oh paint over to the
wheel and I hit the grown-up pulling out
of the slip so yeah I guess a few of the
failures would be on the way out of the
slip we managed to hit the grill which
will have to straighten out straighten
out and what else didn't we do so great
in fact
here the dinghy motor where we love ya
so we have to lead him real that in that
motor down and hop on got that under
control we had a little problem with the
lazy jacks the battens were kind of
rubbing on the way up and I think it's
because I didn't unclick the reef line
so tomorrow we'll give that a try and
hidden the malt the morning call here
forgot to bring in the dinghy painter we
didn't wrap it up we recognized it
before we actually went into reverse but
it's a good catch on Val wouldn't wanna
be under there right now enjoying life
one more note the Gator light jacquier
your vote polls you know I lose them yes
I did I did leave a bolt pole forward
okay can you lose it so that's cuz he's
sailboats don't give you any place to
talk yeah yeah just lay around and so
gone home can get a pretty good time he
first day yeah yeah excellent actually
oh the fish yeah well have to include
the picture that has a beautiful would
you say was I believe a rooster Creek
5,000 soldiers to Freddie
right before we turned into the white so
it was just in the nick of time before
we turn into the window drop sale yeah
cool first day so I think we'll go I
never got to go for a swim and then how
many hours four o'clock really thank you
guys think four to six whopper check and
oversee all these are the mega yachts
here yeah we got some some people and
some scenery here we'll do a quick
little pan here take both so behind us I
think we got the big boys you can see
that kinda all over the place i'll just
do it one of these mm-hmm I'll you
coming around that big gray when I can't
believe the slide on that thing right
now yeah I wonder what that guy does for
a living babies maybe it's fractional
maybe he's not that and some with the
ipod touch no that wasn't and then we
have the willie t hope to do a little
yeah it's kind of hiding be hiding
behind over there yeah but we'll
definitely motor over there we might
even take a gopro over there yeah i
heard rumors of whipped cream and
cherries or something that's documented
yeah rail but we got a nice little
breeze here for the night when we
decided to settle down should be a
pretty comfortable night nice and calm
here in the bike cool
