When we bought our Bavaria 30 cruiser we had no windlass fitted, or anchor locker shelf for that mater! So our winter job we have been trying to do for what ...

today we're fitting our windlass finally
so basically all I'm all I messed about
with a minute is trying to get these
stainless steel rods should come through
from the womanís here but obviously that
the front of the Locker is a bit of a
slope and the position of this typically
is right on the edge so it's been
putting away this so I can get these to
sit flat against the fiberglass we did
some wiring and through the week so we
got our basically our relay controller
here and I've managed to get a an anchor
remote I'm gonna basically gonna put the
socket on here some way I'll figure that
out as we go along
yeah and so as soon as we cut these out
will water off we'll try and get there
the windows fitted itself and we'll show
you what we've done up in the locker
okay so I thought I'd show you what
we've done in our locker so my original
plan was to basically put some plywood
in here and then basically fibreglass it
all and everything else but my thinking
was it would be really difficult to try
and fiberglass around the back of it and
I'm not really good at fiberglass in so
managed to get this plate of stainless
steel made up by somebody I knew so it's
very nice and obviously this this this
is a nice fit in here once everything's
bolted in and then this is basically
going to act as our windlass shelf and
we've got some sides on here and they're
gonna basically be awkward into here I'm
just going to put some big penny washes
on there and basically pop that through
and tap it and then the windlass is
basically inner-city and where we have
this cutout and everything else so
that's the plan and yeah hopefully it's
all gonna fit I'm just tightening these
isn't it so the Shelf attached to the
boat I think I might because I would be
idea am I
my fibreglass all this in afterwards
just so it said so there's no plywood
exposed I can act or see I'm just gonna
drill a drill and tap these holes so I'm
gonna drill that the fiberglass um just
for the six mill drill and then I'm
gonna go all the way through with it
with a 5 just so I can tap the stainless
steel plate on the back of the
fiberglass and then that's gonna hold it
to this idea I'm going to start with the
foil actually go all the way through
that my need a new battery though
[Applause]
it's gonna turn a home
the worst sound ever when you tap in
stainless steel
yeah hopefully
taina up not without so that's how I
don't
the bolts need longer bolts best way to
explain it basically fits it's up in
here so we've got this voice anchor
remote and what I want to do is I want
to put a socket coming out at the bottom
of this it's a face plate here but it
means I'll just need to screw all this
on here before I get the cables
connected to the cable yeah
connect it to the to the solenoid up
here watch the reader for these screws
gonna stick now a bit so about two small
ones I can use and then I can use that
one but the drills up there in there all
right so I've connected all that pretty
loosely so it's a bit messy the minute
I'll tidy up in a bit because sir we
need to put all the paneling back on so
that's all connected some heat-shrink on
everything and I've got this that's
that's the plug connector there or I'll
plug that in when we get ready and then
just finally finally connected
everything down at the battery here and
up there all this here on the other side
this is our this is our isolator switch
so we can isolate the wind this one we
need to so now everything's connected
everything should work lovely so hook
this in let's go and have a look there
put all the covers back on
obviously you can't see a fight
everything everything's nicely hidden
and then I'll plug it's just on this
little cap here that's where we need to
plug it in need some help all right so
now everything's connected up so down
should be and then up should be we gotta
win this
