So, finally after waiting for the excessive winds to die down, we head out to the Greek Islands. We leave Akbuk and head to Didim where we check out of Turkey, only once again to be delayed by the wind! One night in Didim Marina, and we decide enough is enough and we head out to Samos.
Watch as we explore this beautiful Island by car, taking in amazing sights, lovely food and great people. Fire has devastated large parts of the Island, with an on going battle to put them out!

something to the windy seems to
disappear dollars we're down to ten
knocks away from 23 which is
so we've got from six horses feed them
to Matt cool so we're kinda waiting
you
as we said in the last video and we are
heading up to Greece next and to do that
we have to fill out a trans love which
we did say we were collecting from
dinner Maria we've got a love now
basically it's it's kind of kestrels
visa for being in Turkey so to leave
Turkey we have to fill out the transit
Bob simple document with all the details
of the boat you're doing they fill this
out and then when we come back into
Turkey we'll have to go in the morning
we've had to pull spam clean and leaving
for Greece I don't know if you can hear
outside but it is blowing an absolute
cooling and we've got wind speeds around
30 knots at the moment and it's supposed
to increase more than that
you
we finally arrived in Peoria and the
wind was completely on the bow all the
way here just about so we not use the
sails very much um a couple of times
maybe and this took us about six hours
and that's not too bad really and it
seems pretty sheltered here not too many
boats in at the moment so hopefully once
the anchors set are we we sure it's
setting and without looking at me and
we're gonna dive on it and we're gonna
head into town and we'll take work
check-in
you
so as you can see with article and work
or examples just happily ranked see
what's been happening apparently they've
had a couple of fires over the last few
days so where what
such a shame exactly which is the main
town of Sandwich and then
a lot of the bad bends on Samos or in
Greece in general have these little
shrines and apparently they are - the
people have been killed on road
accidents motorbikes cars and things
like that some of them are really really
deep in my pocket this is a Nissen
michael that we provide for the day
so that's them on the outside of the
building and we're going to what they're
doing so this is Marisol Campos and this
is a completely new harbor area they're
the built and it looks brilliant
actually we've got electricity in water
as you'd expect but it's pretty deep and
I've got quite a few nice little boats
in there
with little fishing boats coming bob has
have been doing their naps and he's just
sweeping up around
this in your new boat Kevin
seeing better days
you
long beach hotel remove the Greeks I
couldn't find a better place you wish
for a better place yesterday
so first greek salad of the trip not a
bad place to enjoy it really is
oops
Samos town has changed the block in the
last 12 months we came here 12 months 18
months ago and it was just all the time
the harbor wall was just a mess but now
it is absolutely useful it was quite a
swell in there and I have heard before
the that is one of the difficulties
ignoring up in in someone's town we
walked around the town into the back
streets and it was just look that it was
it's all changed quite a lot last time
we came and a lot of the shops have been
closed because Greece had had the
economic problems and a lot of the shop
owners that had to go back to the
mainland they've all opened up again now
and to be honest it was it was lovely we
walked around Scott
you
once we delivered the car back after
we'd been around the island it was time
to provision up for the next leg of the
journey so we called into this little
fruit and veg shop beautiful stuff and
it expensive but then again most of the
islands are now
all right
you do all the time
you're always morning
you
