Heading to Turgutreis on the West coast of Turkey, we have our best sail since purchasing Kejstral, 23 knots + on the Beam, with S.O.G at 7 + knots, pretty awesome! The 'Maltese Falcon' sails serenely by, and we meet up with old friends and spend some time catching up. Provisions purchased it's then up with the sails and South to Knidos, an old Greek settlement with beautiful ancient ruins, nestled between Bodrum & Datca. We swim in the crystal clear waters, explore, and haemorrhage money at the local Taverna. Mooring here is expensive and combined with dodgy electric, and water that's only available periodically, we leave feeling somewhat disappointed. Having said that, it really is an amazing location and there is no hesitation in recommending it as a must see sailing destination!

territories which is down the west coast
of Turkey we're heading down there
because we're gonna meet some friends
and some he was at school with I'm glad
sweet treat tonight and a drink so
looking forward to that we've got a bit
of wind this morning we've got about 12
to 15 knots did you know we're out we
did about six knots speed over ground so
that for now they've only just left that
bit which is just over there yeah

I'll be fine you're likely to kotori's
excellent sale probably the best sale I
think we've ever had so far anyway we
had about 15 to 20 knots of wind well
did you know we're out were between six
and seven knots and it was just
brilliant it was on the beam took us
about four and a half hours which is
pretty good bear in mind about five six
so we've made good time put the anchor
down we're just waiting to see if it
second how isolated without look in a
minute again and then maybe we'll go
[Applause]
this is inside the marina the customs
office just brought the ribbon which
they allow you to do left out boat
around in the bay next door so it's nice
and secure
so we're in purgatory we're in a
restaurant where were meeting some
friends yeah one of them school friends
that are having well a nicer last year
for the first time in about thirty years
and it was lovely to catch up and she's
now moved to Tokyo treat so we're
meeting up for a drinking some food
oh okay oh my god I'll have a bacon kill
myself I flick it up think that's good
oh wow
so the next thing we can do
[Music]
quite a breezy morning we've come into
the marina to leave the rib again and
we're just gonna go and get a little bit
of shopping to last us the next couple
of days for our next stop two needles

so d what's happened today then been
able to swim but tomorrow is meant to be
calm which is how much 9 maximum Cindy
well you first time at this time in the
morning
brilliant no it's not it is called Tim
stop messing
[Applause]
so Anita assists this little Bay and
you've got a lovely Jesse out in front
here which we get about 12 boats on be
right there it's very pretty and the
archeological site is just so we're off
to have a look yeah you can see the size
of the little shop so this was some what
they call of stoah and it's like a line
of shops or buildings used for storage
apparently you look at the detail and
some of this work it's fun how many
hours must have taken to come so
presumably this was the port that he
used transporting goods obviously by
boat
so why is that further sound strange
Thank You ticking a little bit of water
[Music]
so this is a continuation of the shops
that we saw around the corner this park
apparently was an altar
there's over here a temple of some kind
unfortunately you can't see too much but
you can see the base
actually dug down to show you the depths
of the walls it's quite amazing
yeah massive walls um this part was
called the Wren temple terrace that's
right
well kind of high on top of the hill
overlooking it's lovely Bay and that
seemingly is where the court was in part
of the Tangier
it's a big hole carved out of the rock
or is that layers facing this is the
rounded end of a storage so that was the
roll shops notice this stove that we saw
earlier were looking down up pretty
impressive
second time today very impressive
