In this episode we show you how to apply Medical Superglue - and how to Fibreglass like a pro, when McDazzle re-sizes our liferaft box! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR...

when you got us overburdened last week
we skipped ahead to the present day
talking about makes cancer diagnosis
what we've learned about health and her
treatment options this week we take you
back to Townsville where the story began
angly
we're doing it-- not hey dot hey pop
that baby
[Music]
Oh chip chip chip chip
then we're having an absolutely crankin
sale
I must admit when you have to go we have
to get coming back to tell them so the
whole Mozilla point Benson
it's um when the winters of the south it
is just a vent sale for Maggie to town
honing stirring up the guts of it
straight into town so yes we are
cranking along
so yeah we'll take any old salad days a
good day doesn't matter if it's a three
hour trip for a six-hour trip anything
the kid is moving get our smiles and our
dolls and we're having a lovely time
let's hear you this
so I've just finished off my early
morning meditations and exercises for my
shoulder and for my boob and I have to
say I've been really enjoying this new
shift in early morning routine we've
learned so much or just even been
reminded so much during our research of
late and to healthy living and habits
that we'd forgotten or lost and we've
been regaining some of those healthy
habits it's been really cool green tea
first thing in the morning and then our
typical lemon juice and just spending
the first half hour or so of the morning
just being really mindful and grateful
and doing deep breathing exercises and
just really getting connected with the
body and waking up with a really good
mindset for the day it's yeah it's
simple things like that make a big
change and I feel very empowered by what
I've been learning about rebuilding my
body and getting it back up to our
tip-top healthy shape so yeah really
happy with the direction where we're
taking with our healthy choices outside
I found Daren resizing our life raft box
I've already started this little project
here we're just making this this life
raft box a little bit bigger and I'll
just show you what I've done here to
give you a little bit of an idea of how
how I've actually sort of set it all up
and basically all off done off of cut it
in two and I've I've put a piece of ply
either end you can see the old drill
holes there I've just put up just put
four self tappers in there to hold it
apart then I've taken
a bit of this oil chop strength and I've
just glossed the inside of place that
inside and I've just painted it in there
with a bit of resin and that's sort of
the end result that we've got there near
so here's down just painting on the
resin mixture onto the side the inside
of the box so that'll give the glass
fabric something to stick to
so that's chopped strangle ass going on
you don't need to use chopped strand but
that's what we currently have we're just
using up the rest of the last of it
and Darren is just basically filling up
that train just tweeting it soaking it
with the risen it does soaking like a
sponging and see it start to change
color there if you want to see more
about this you can also look at our
chain plate video it's their way to done
some extensive fiberglassing there and
Darren also did talk about the different
types of fabrics and and it's another
application and a different area on the
inside of the hull if you want to take a
look at that and your raw foods diet has
been really easy we just cut up some
fruit and go
[Music]
[Music]
I've mixed up a nice paste or a board
whatever you want to call it and I'll
smear that in and that's our first coat
this is the microfiber adhesive filler
there's a few different types of stuff
fulfilling and stuff a fairing and this
this one this particular ones in the
middle of the road it's sort of fill I
come fearing so the fairing one is
actually a finer a finer product again
this stuff's a little bit a little bit
coarser
it is recommended not to breathe this
stuff in it's um
it's not a good thing
[Music]
so the only tools we actually need to
apply this which these are really good
it's just a cut out of a milk container
you just want something nice and light
that's actually quite flexible and you
can shape it a little bit and that's
just that is actually perfect and I've
also got this big feller II just run
right over the top just to give it a a
nice flat surface
[Music]

[Music]
so one of the boons of all the research
that I've been doing to try and figure
out what to do about my health
situations is that I've learned that an
anti-inflammatory diet is really good
for the body and that's what Darren and
I have been eating for the last four
five maybe six weeks I think and we both
feel really good from eating raw fruits
and vegetables only we've cut out all
dairy meats and grains and it's opened
up a whole new world of amazing flavors
for us delicious food that you can
actually taste which is really good for
you but I'm going to make mushroom
burgers for dinner tonight the mushrooms
are actually the bigger buns and then
I'm going to stuff it full of all sorts
of yummy veggies and I'm just making up
some patties made out of sweet potato
I've got in here cooked sweet potato
that I baked and some grated beetroot
and some parsley and cumin and I've gone
up and gotten some rosemary out of the
marina garden would you believe so I'm
adding that to the mix and I'm going to
just dehydrate that in the Sun for the
rest of the day and so it'll be a yummy
burger to add to our mushroom burger for
dinner instead of a meat patty so it'll
be yummy the circus had come to town so
after putting out the patties in the Sun
we took off to check it out
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
oh babe it's looking good it's looking
good so these are our hamburgers
mushroom and beetroot kumrah petit
hamburgers and I've got this one loaded
up so you can see it looks like a
hamburger and this is Darren's monster
here I'm not sure how he's gonna eat it
but boy these look good so I just
thought I would take the chance to show
you guys what medical superglue looks
like when you're applying it to the skin
because they used medical superglue
after they took the lump out of my
breast so what they did is they put
stitches on the inside of the breast to
hold the deeper skin together the deeper
tissue together but then the top layers
are the top layer of skin this is a
professional top layer of skin they
actually glued with medical superglue
and I'm bidding there's not many of you
who've actually seen this and know how
to apply it so I thought I'd take you
through it because this is perfect
opportunity so what they do excuse me
so this is the lump this is the the scar
on my breast and what they've done is
they've put the stitches deeper in the
tissue and then they've run the
superglue across the top edge it's
really important if you're doing this
for a superficial wound like um I cut on
your arm or a gash on your leg or on
your head that you don't get superglue
on the inside of the pieces of skin when
you're joining them together so what you
do is you start at one end and work in a
zigzag fashion to the other end and then
you're applying your glue and then you
start from the other end and cross over
and another zigzag down to the other end
and then what you have is a strong sort
of a bond that brings the two layers of
skin together and that's all they did
and this has been three weeks
post-surgery and it's just adding to
come off now so it's held the top layer
of skin together really nicely and I'll
just show you this is the other point
where they took lymph nodes out and this
is the scar the glue has come off much
quicker and that is the clean sort of
effect that you do get with the
superglue so yeah I just thought you
might find that really interesting and
might give you a bit of confidence to
understand how to use medical superglue
or even if you're in a sort of a patch
you can just use actual superglue if
you've got it on board and patch up your
loved ones broken skin okay could have
done it with a bit of epoxy I don't know
that I'd let it be putting epoxy on my
skin yes I don't have confidence and try
and track down some medical superglue a
really handy thing to have in your
first-aid kit come up pretty good
we're going to do is throw it in there
put the paint alone through the little
hole this just gets fixed through the to
the ship
that's just the boats going down the
hydrostatic release will let the life
raft go from the ship as the law our
floats away it pulls that cord and
activates the the canister in the Laura
or you can do it buddy visiting clever
yes sir that's how you um can make
adjustments to things like boxes and or
whatever object you want to make or
build something in fiberglass it's
pretty easy that project took about four
days in total so yeah we've got on here
fiberglass box then I hope you learned
something from the video as well okay
shoot us a question if you need to we
needed some nature time and had heard of
a locals waterfall so the next day we
went off exploring
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
crystal Craig was a pretty fun place a
short drive from the house free routes
