Emma yeah you want for breakfast is one
okay waffles no wait pancakes no wait
scones ooh scones that sounds good yeah
so we like skills on board oh my god we
love scones on board and I make it about
once probably I should make it work
don't spoil is one of the things that's
really good is that when we do feel like
making it is that we do have all the
ingredients somewhere they're just basic
ingredients and you can kind of
improvise with what you have so let's
get started
[Music]
so I got all my ingredients I have flour
sugar some dried fruit sour cream baking
soda baking powder a stick of butter a
little salt and one egg that's easy
that's it
first thing I do is do the wet
ingredients so that is just sour cream
and one large egg
[Music]
now I have to preheat the oven how high
400 while the oven is getting up to
temperature I am going to start on the
dry ingredients
ooh so what kind of fruit we putting in
there I'll have to see what's in it
[Music]
so what are you doing at the butter well
I have to grade it in there and it's
much easier to have it chunked up first
and then bring it into the flour mixture
is that why you pulled it out of the
freezer yeah you always want to have
really cold butter so I cube it up and
then I toss it in there and mix it all
up so I'm using my hand so then I can
get the right texture I'm just kind of
breaking up the butter and it will end
up looking kind of like sand and then
after that then I'll toss in whatever
fruit that I have and then the wet
ingredients which is the sour cream and
egg and then we are all set that's it
okay okay I'm looking forward to these
it's like play-doh hmm looks fun
actually you undo it
no thanks
somebody's gotta hold the camera yeah
okay so I don't have blueberries but I
think that we have something else that
will be a good compromise
Emma yes uh we have raisins we have
craisins yeah figs which one you think
I'm thinking berries it does sound good
and we have some almond slices so I
think I'm gonna add that too so now that
I have all the dry ingredients in I'm
gonna put in the wet ingredients
[Music]
I like using parchment paper so it
doesn't make such a mess why not go and
put them batter down that what you meant
to say so now that the parchment paper
is down I'm gonna dump the batter on it
and just form it into a circle but I
thought their triangles
well the circle and then you cut it like
pizza oh I see
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
okay my pizza's done now what I'm just
gonna cut it it's not cooked I'm gonna
cut it separate it a little bit sprinkle
it with a little sugar and in the oven
it goes
[Music]
well it looks flaky
I like to just kind of separate it just
slightly cuz it's gonna rise you know
I've never watched you do this I've
always wondered wondered what just how
you get those shapes
you just eat my food and not watch well
yeah
[Music]
just a little sherry on top
[Music]
and the oven it goes
and how long does it stay in there just
15 to 17 minutes nice of a gun it's
smell delicious
nice
